The Kingdom Dream & Psalm 91
How did this ministry come together?
A couple of years ago as I was serving in ministry for Unbound and my heart was on fire for all the beautiful healing I had seen taking place. I had a desire in to take the message of the Gospel to wherever the Lord needed me to go. I asked the Lord how He wanted me to serve Him and He began to send me prompts to study the Visitation. This came in various different ways and at first, I didn’t get it. It took several times of receiving either images, books, or friends sharing the scripture on the Visitation with me before I realized, “OH! Hey God, YOU are talking to ME!” As I sat in prayer with the scripture, He flooded me with so much, but the main message was that we are called to be like Mary and magnify Jesus to everyone!
Initially I thought the ministry was just for women and it was to be called “Magnify.” I have such a desire for women to know, as Pope St John Paul II said, their feminine genius. The Lord was bringing the events to me, whether it was small retreats or short talks with teaching and prayer ministry time for women in my path. After some time, I had begun hearing both women and men say, “I wish there was something like this for men.” And that is when I began to ask the Lord, “is this ministry just for women or is there a component for men as well?” As I kept praying into this discerning with the Lord and others I walk with in ministry with, I decerned that I needed to take this back to prayer. So, everything was on the table with the Lord. “Abba Father, this is your ministry, I want to surrender everything to you and be obedient to your call.” In Mass one Sunday after receiving Communion, I heard the Lord say, "On Eagles Wings” so, I opened the hymnal to that song and began to pray with it. This song is based off of Psalm 91, which is a beautiful declaration of the truth that we can pray over ourselves and our families every day. It is protection - He is our refuge, our safe place. When you pray with this scripture you are saying, “I trust you God, no matter what happens today I know that you’ve got me covered.” He is the God of absolute power yet also so tender and loving. I didn’t always know this about the Lord but when I opened myself up in relationship with Him, He gave me the knowledge to know I am beloved - I belong to Him.
The Lord has provided different places for Psalm 91 to minister his truth, beauty, and goodness with others so they, too, can come to understand their true identity as a beloved child of God. Please keep us, this ministry, and those we serve in your prayers. God bless you!
